Cartoon

Mom thought this was funny. Sometimes the job we think we want isn't the one meant to be.

How do you give them up?

That's the question we always hear. In the mail today we got an article that explains it perfectly. I get to stay home with Mom forever but my big brother Tank and many of my friends have moved on to change the life of someone else. That's the biggest gift anyone could give you. Independence.

Check out this article about A CCI puppy raiser.

My siblings

My sisters & brothers are doing great. Austin has moved to Phase 3 at Leader Dogs. One more and he will be going home. Aries & Andre are on Phase 3 at PAWS (the last one) they are picking their jobs and be matched with clients. I'm so excited for them! Mom said we all look like little clones. That Laker sure does have strong genes

Party Girl

This weekend I got to visit with my 1/2 brothers Kingsley & Karson.
There were lots of other PAWS dogs and their families.
Mom is dressing me up again. I don't mind as long as there treats involved.

Me & my sis

Tresa & I have settled into a routine. I lay quietly. She bites my feet. I sit nicely. She bites my ears. I ignore her. She bites my lip. I love her but that kid can be annoying! One day I hope we can lie next to each other & snuggle. For now I'll snuggle with Mom. She doesn't bite.

Parade girl

Today I walked in a parade with sister and my buddies Jordan & Parker. There were Leader Dog puppies and some people called Lions walking with us too. They were all very nice to me. Everyone was cheering and waving. Was it my pretty new cape that got them so excited? I'm not sure but it sure was fun!

Update on my "A" litter

Asher has been released from the Paws program. He passed his Phase 1 with no problems but had a medical problem with his feet. Of the 6 in the "A" litter, it seems that Austin and Arwen are at Leader dogs, and Andre and Aries are still a go in the program.
I'm waiting for my official ID to be a Therapy Dog.

A new official career

Well I passed my Canine Good Citizen & Therapy Dog International tests today. (like I wouldn't) It was very simple. Must have been all that good PAWS training.
Now I can go to more places to visit people. I could always go to Mom's hospital anyway. All pets are welcome. I can get an official therapy job now that I have credentials.
I'm getting bored at home when Mom & Tresa go out without me. Now we can leave her home once in a while. Hope I don't sound like a bratty big sister. it's just been an adjustment for me.

Just plain cute: T Boys

As the holidays are coming Mom is thinking about her 1st foster puppy Tank. He lives in Texas with his new family. Hopefully he will be certified soon and she will be able to send him some gifts and find out about his new life. My buddy Takara sent me a picture of Tank's brother Tanner in his costume. It really made us laugh and we had to share it. It's kind of like Tresa's.

Pre-rinse cycle

The best thing about being a big sister is to teach Tresa to do something and then watch her get in trouble. Mom didn't appreciate the help in the kitchen.

Fall at Crystal Mountain Resort

We went Up North to see Grandma & Grandpa. I ran through the leaves and sniffed out all the wild animals.I'm enjoying being a keeper dog. I sleep on the bed with Mom. I even get to snuggle on the couch once in a while. Tresa gets jealous.
I'm jealous of her new baby toys. Mom says I can't play with them. Sometimes I sneek a taste!

showing Tresa the ropes

I kind of like having a little sister. She is fun to play with and REALLY fun to tease.
We have a few sweet moments too.Good sniffing spots

And she knows who's the boss

My new sister

I got home Friday morning from school. Surprise Owen was at my house and a new baby sister Tresa. I was so excited we ran all over the house.
Mom says I've got to teach her how to have good manners. And I can't lay on top of her. She doesn't seem to mind a good wrestle.
The best part of being a keeper dog is that I get to sleep in bed with Mom. Yes! It's what I've been waiting for. I just can't hog the bed.

Off to school

I'm going back to school today. I hope I can make Mom proud. I'm more grown up now so school is not so scary. My brothers & sisters are there waiting for me.
Mom had to do one more dress up session before I go. My brother Snickers sure did have costumes. He didn't need them in Heaven so he left them for me. Thanks a lot!

I better get good treats after this!!!

Back at home

I got to ride on that plane again. It was just as much fun the 2nd time. Mommy tried to get me to break before we went in the airport, but I wasn't in the mood to pee in public. She told me "You'll have to hold it a long time!"
There were more nice people on the plane. A nice lady next to me let me rest my chin on her legs. I left some white hair on her black pants to remember me by. She said she was going to steal me and take me home with her. I tried to use my puppy dog eyes to get part of her sandwich. No luck!
We brought some official sourdough bread home from our trip. I wasn't allowed to taste it but it smelled wonderful!I met a nice man at the airport. He is the new grandpa for my friend Lira. She is a hearing dog and recently went home with her forever family. He said she is doing very well.

I'm glad to be back in my own home & yard. It's not the same pooping on cement in a big city, I like my grass at home.

Visiting family

All the classes are done. Now we can visit with family here in SF. This is our cousin Paula. She lives here and raises spotted dogs. Owen wanted to play but one of the girls was in something called heat and had to stay in the dog run. I could play. It must be a girls only thing. We had a good run around the yard. You can only go so fast in a hotel room.
